After the highly successful European launch of the S6 series - VanMoof's first all new bike developed since the company was acquired by McLaren Applied - is now making its way across the channel into the hands of UK riders. The S6 and the S6 Open have been on sale in Europe since the summer of 2025, beating all sales expectations following very positive media, customer and retailer reviews.
The S6 series is VanMoof's ultimate bike: building on 11 years of experience developing e-bikes and leveraging on its new British owners' engineering expertise, the Amsterdam-based company has created a bike series that is more powerful, more secure and smarter than anything it has released before. It was the only e-bike awarded with Gold at this year's prestigious iF Design Awards - with the jury noting 'the design pays homage to the liberating feeling of urban mobility'.
The S6 takes VanMoof's iconic frame and makes it even more minimal. The S6 Open caters towards smaller riders, similar to VanMoof's previous generation of bikes. Inside the legendary frames everything is rebuilt and improved - making this VanMoof's most intuitive, fun and powerful ride so far, allowing for total harmony between rider and road.
The S6 and S6 Open improve on VanMoof’s most beloved features: the Boost Button - which gives riders extra power at the touch of a button - is more responsive. The Gen 6 Kick Lock is notably faster to engage as well as more sturdy and waterproof. Meanwhile, VanMoof’s notorious Anti-Theft System also received a significant upgrade, with more granular location tracking, in addition to Apple Find My. VanMoof also upgraded the Control Core - the brain at the centre of all rides, making it the strongest system to ever power VanMoof rides, designed for longevity. The S6 series uses the foolproof and extremely reliable Autoshift Hub. The optional Suspension Seatpost helps riders conquer even the most rugged urban environment comfortably. The completely redesigned and award winning soundpack for VanMoof’s latest bikes is developed to be more intuitive, less intrusive and blend in better with hectic city life.
