PRIVACY STATEMENT VANMOOF

VanMoof takes your privacy very seriously and will collect and process your personal data in a secure manner. In order to guarantee your privacy, VanMoof always acts in accordance with the Dutch Data Protection Act. On this webpage you will find VanMoof’s Privacy Statement. Before you agree with this Privacy Statement, we recommend you to read it carefully.
When using the VanMoof smartphone appliation, websites (http://www.vanmoof.com http://presale.vanmoof.com http://myvanmoof.com ) or POS modules, we do collect personal data about you. We only use this personal data for internal usage and won’t share your personal data with third parties for online marketing purposes.

1. Who is VanMoof?

VanMoof is a private company with limited liability, having its registered office in (1092AD) Amsterdam, at Mauritskade 55 (Chamber of Commerce registration number 34227663). The manner in which your personal data is used has been reported to the Dutch Data Protection Authority under number M1576XXX. VanMoof offers a free service, which enables users to connect with their bike through Bluetooth and the internet. In order to make this service possible your personal data will be collected while using the service.

2. What personal data does VanMoof collect and process?

The personal data that will be collected is dependant, among other things, on where your data is gathered.

VANMOOF SMARTPHONE APP

If you use the VanMoof smartphone app for your Electrified or Smartbike we need your name, email address, address, in order to make all functionalities of the Smartbike and Electrified available. You may use our app to run additional services such as the location based services mentioned below. If you do, we me may process additional personal data as specified below (see: Location Based Services).

VANMOOF WEBSITES

If you place an order, we need your name, email address, delivery address and payment information to process your order and to keep you posted on the progress of your order.
To make shopping on our VanMoof websites as pleasant as possible, we use your email address to inform you about the development of the site, special offers and promotions. If you no longer wish to receive this information, you can unsubscribe by sending an email to [email protected]

VANMOOF POS

If you place an order in our stores on the POS (Point of Sale) module, we need your name, email address, delivery address and payment information to process your order, and if necessary keep you posted about the progress of your order.

3. What are cookies and how does VanMoof use them?

When using the VanMoof websites or smartphone app various cookies are saved on your computer, tablet or mobile phone (“Devices”), which can then be accessed. Cookies are small pieces of information (in the form of text) that a server sends to the browser (such as Chrome or Firefox) with the intention that the browser sends this information back to the server the next time a user makes use of the app or website

VanMoof only uses technical and functional cookies. You can configure your browser settings so that you do not receive any cookies the next time you use a Vanmoof service. To find out more about these functions, you can consult your browser instructions or the help function of your browser.

4. Location-Based Services

To provide location-based services on VanMoof products, software or anti-theft services, VanMoof may collect, use, and share precise location data, including the real-time geographic location of your VanMoof bike. Where available, location-based services may use GPS, Bluetooth, and your IP Address, along with crowd-sourced Wi-Fi hotspots and cell tower locations, and other technologies to determine your device’s’ approximate location and riding distance. Unless you provide consent, this location data is collected anonymously in a form that does not personally identify you and is used by VanMoof to provide and improve location-based products and services.

Some location-based services offered by VanMoof, such as the “Report stolen” feature require your personal information for the feature to work, and will only be activated when you use that feature.

5. For what purposes will VanMoof use personal data about you?

VanMoof may use your personal data for the following purposes:

To personalize the website;
To provide customer services and to allow you to use the VanMoof apps and websites; this may include verifying your personal details or having them verified by a third party if this is necessary in order to deliver personal services;
To communicate with you about delivery times, services and other updates;
To protect, adapt and improve the VanMoof websites, apps and services;
To provide information about you to our support department and bike recovery team;

Data is stored for as long as it legitimately serves the purposes mentioned.

If you wish not to receive any e-mails or updates from VanMoof you can unsubscribe by sending an email to [email protected]

There is also an option to unsubscribe in every e-mail that you receive from VanMoof.

Third party use

VanMoof won’t supply your information to any third parties without your permission.

Log information

When you use VanMoof products and services, we automatically collect and store certain information in server logs. This includes:

Bike and App event information such as crashes, system activity, hardware settings and other information to improve our products.

6. How does VanMoof protect your personal data?

VanMoof takes appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your (personal) data against loss or any form of unlawful use. We encrypt many of our services using SSL and HTTPS. We also review our information collection, storage and processing practices, including physical security measures, to guard against unauthorized access to systems.
Finally, we restrict access of your personal information to only the VanMoof employees, contractors and agents who need to know that information in order to process it for us, and who are subject to strict contractual confidentiality obligations and may be disciplined or terminated if they fail to meet these obligations.

7. How can you view, change or delete your personal data?

If you wish to know what personal data we have collected about you or if you wish to change or delete data, then you can send your request to [email protected] We will provide you with the personal data within 4 weeks. We may ask for valid identification.

8. Transfer of data to countries outside the EU

For technical and operational reasons, it may be necessary for your (personal) data to be transferred to (the servers of) companies affiliated to VanMoof located in the United States or other countries outside of Europe. In the event VanMoof decides to transfer your personal data outside of Europe, you will be informed first. In such a case, VanMoof will contractually arrange for the proper safeguards to be in place to protect your privacy, in conformity with Dutch and EU law.

9. Can this Privacy Statement be changed?

It is possible for this Privacy Statement to be amended in the future. It is recommended to regularly check if this Privacy Statement is amended when you use VanMoof’s websites, services or apps.
