Safety and Compliance Manager


VanMoof is looking for a Safety and Compliance Manager who’s eager to take the next step in their career and take charge of VanMoof’s product certification and safety. Can you monitor, strengthen, and optimize our growth in the global market? This is your chance to become part of our international team of inventors.

As Compliance and Safety Manager, you’ll join the Quality Team and lead our compliance and reliability engineers to ensure that all VanMoof products are designed, tested and certified to comply with worldwide regulatory requirements. You’ll bring a tech-leader perspective, and a deep working knowledge of regulatory, safety, and compliance for consumer electronics products.

What you’ll do:

  • You’ll drive a standardized and structured approach to Compliance, Reliability and Safety requirements across all VanMoof products, covering all relevant markets where VanMoof is selling products. 

  • You’ll create certification plans, including relevant directives, type approvals, regulatory requirements and harmonized standards that are applicable to all VanMoof products, and manage the relationship with third party labs and notified bodies.

  • You’ll define VanMoof’s full set of internal requirements, processes and controls to make sure that the safety, reliability and regulatory requirements are fully met and maintained.

  • You’ll develop and maintain VanMoof’s restricted materials and chemical lists and SOPs to ensure both VanMoof and its suppliers compliance with chemical and environmental requirements (e.g. ROHS, REACH, CA65), including escalation processes in cases of non-compliance.

  • You’ll guide product development to ensure compliance, working with our internal teams and third party service providers during the entire development process, covering all aspects of the products together with R&D.

What you’ll bring:

  • You have a Bachelor’s Degree In Engineering or other related fields.

  • You have at least 10 years of relevant experience, preferably in consumer product safety and compliance experience.

  • You have proven experience in building compliance files and submissions to regulatory authorities to achieve compliance requirements in Europe (e.g. CE) and North America (e.g. FCC, IC).

  • You have an excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken. 

Extremely nice to have: 

  • You have knowledge in RED, EMC, RF, SAR, Wireless certification, and labeling requirements.

  • You are familiar with product reliability testing. 

  • You have previous experience in electrical parts or in the e-bike industry.
