VanMoof Bike Hunt Report: November

Just when it seems like all hope is lost, a stolen bike can re-appear in the most unlikely of places. This month, Eus gets caught up in a classic race against time, and designer Marjolein stumbles across a stolen X2 in her own back garden. That’s why “never give up” is fast becoming the Bike Hunter’s unofficial motto.

Normally, we wouldn’t complain about an efficient mail network. But Bike Hunter Eus was hot on the tail of a missing Electrified S2, and the clock was ticking. A canny thief had tried to outwit our team by quickly mailing the stolen bike to the other side of the country. Even with a strong signal, Eus knew it was only a matter of time before the bike was bundled into the back of a secure truck, never to be seen again.

Luckily, the PostNL staff were aware of the Bike Hunters’ mission, and held up the suspiciously bike-shaped package before it could be whisked away forever. After that, it was just a matter of logging in with the VanMoof app, and wheeling the S2 back home.

Speaking of home, our designer Marjolein had been doing some off-the-clock Bike Hunting of her own, keeping tabs on a mysterious X2 which had recently appeared outside her apartment. Noticing it hadn’t been moved for over a week, she alerted the Bike Hunters. Turns out they’d previously been tracking a similar bike in the same area.

Naturally, the Bike Hunters don’t believe in coincidences, and the team scrambled to confirm the bike’s serial number. With a positive ID, it was another unconventional victory for the Bike Hunters – and a new team member recruited!
